Jun 15, 2023
Shop local this summer! Use our simply local map at halton.ca. to find nearby farms, nurseries and garden centres. Hand holding phone, images of strawberries, raspberries and hanging plants.

As we head into summer, our local farms in Halton will start to offer more seasonal produce and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Our region is home to farms that offer a variety of fresh seasonal produce, nurseries, garden centres and fun, family-friendly activities. With the growing season finally here, I encourage you to enjoy fresh local food while supporting Halton’s agri-businesses.

Our recently updated Simply Local online map is an easy and convenient way to learn about what local farms across Halton have to offer. You can use it to plan your next agricultural adventure at farms and garden centres, and learn how to connect with local food producers. Local farmer’s markets are now opening across Halton, making it even easier to purchase fresh produce in your community.

This summer, explore farms that offer pick-your-own fruits and vegetables, ranches, stables and equestrian centres. You can also find nearby nurseries and greenhouses to find the season’s best plants and greenery for your home, garden or balcony. To stay informed on seasonal produce, receive recipes and learn about upcoming events, sign up for our Simply Local eNewsletter!
