Regional Chair Gary Carr: Provide your input on our 2023-2026 Strategic Business Plan

Mar 23, 2023

With every new term of Council, we set priorities and actions required to deliver on issues that matter to you. With Halton expected to grow from 624,000 to 1.1 million residents by the year 2051, the priorities captured in the 2023-2026 Strategic Business Plan must reflect the needs of our community.

From clean drinking water to resilient infrastructure, public health programs, financial assistance and family supports, Regional programs and services contribute to a high quality of life in Halton. The Plan will guide our work to enhance these critical programs, services and infrastructure over the next four years.

The Region has prepared a Consultation Document to seek input from the public as we work together to develop the 2023-2026 Plan. It outlines our four proposed themes, each with proposed goals, actions and measures.

Now, we want to hear from you! Between March 23 and May 4, 2023, we are asking residents, businesses and stakeholders, as well as Indigenous People, Communities and First Nations to participate in consultation activities and provide feedback on our Consultation Document.

Here’s how to get involved:

Take our short online survey

  • It will take less than 10 minutes to complete.
  • The survey is open until May 4.

Attend a virtual (Zoom) public meeting

  • Wednesday, April 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 25 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Your feedback is valuable, and it will help ensure our Plan captures the priorities that matter most to the Halton community. Feedback received will inform the final 2023-2026 Strategic Business Plan, which will be presented to Regional Council for approval in July.

To stay up to date, review the Consultation Document (PDF file), take the survey or add a virtual meeting to your calendar, please visit halton.ca/strategicplan. Updates will also be provided through our social media channels – Twitter (external link), Facebook (external link), LinkedIn (external link) and Instagram (external link).

On behalf of Regional Council, I would like to thank you for your participation! I look forward to hearing the priorities from our community – working together, we help keep Halton a great place to live, work, raise a family and retire.
