Subsidized Passes for Low Income Transit (SPLIT)

Need help with the cost of getting to and from work, school or appointments? The SPLIT pass subsidizes the cost of a monthly bus pass for low income students, adults and seniors, in Burlington, Milton and Oakville.

The passes are available for anyone who qualifies including individuals who receive assistance from Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program External Link or private and government sponsored refugees..

  • To determine if you are eligible for the program dial 311
  • To apply you must have your most recent Notice of Assessment (from your taxes).
  • If you are a student you must also have a valid student card.
  • If you are a senior you must have proof of age to determine eligibility for the seniors fare.
  • If you are a sponsored refugee, you must be able to verify your immigration status
  • SPLIT passes cover 50% of the cost of a monthly transit pass or single fare tickets up to a book of 20 tickets (bus) in Burlington, Milton or Oakville.
  • You will be assessed annually for your eligibility.

NEW!! Single Fare Ticket Option available for SPLIT Pass Program

  • Starting September 1, 2016, people eligible for the SPLIT pass program will be able to buy single fare tickets or books of 10-20 tickets if they don’t need a monthly pass.
  • Single fare tickets will be 50% of the price of a regularly priced ticket.
  • If you are currently approved for the SPLIT Program, tickets can be purchased where current monthly passes are sold.
