Public Transit

Call services below for senior fares, schedules and routes. 

Tips
  • Act as a “bus buddy” - show a friend
  • PRESTO Smart Card External Link allows use of multiple transit systems, including GO.
  • GO accessibility features External Link (e.g. 5th railcar behind the locomotive with ramp and priority seating for wheelchairs, platform information)
  • Split Passes (SPLIT passes cover 50% or more of the cost of a monthly bus pass for seniors who qualify for help with the cost of bus transit in Burlington, Milton and Oakville).

Accessible Transportation

  • Find out about costs and fees for cancelling
  • Municipal accessible transit may subsidize taxi costs for eligible seniors (Taxi Scrip Program)

Delivery Services

Stores provide delivery services and agencies shop for you or arrange someone to go with you to shop (Search External Link grocery delivery, shuttles and shopping assistance)

Tips
  • Place your order by phone, fax, email or online.
  • Services may have a minimum order requirement (often $40 to $45).
  • There may be a delivery fee.
  • Pay online or at the door using debit cards or credit cards.

Taxi Services

Commercial taxi companies may have wheelchair accessible vehicles, honour Taxi Scrip Programs or provide a seniors discount.
