Garbage bag or diaper bag tags

More than 3 bags require a garbage tag, up to a total of 6 garbage bags maximum (3 untagged, 3 tagged).

Garbage tags are available for pick up at select retail locations and municipal buildings or you can order them online using the following forms: 

  • Order Garbage tags online or dial 311 if you need to leave more than 3 garbage bags at your curb (a 3 bag limit applies per household). More than 3 bags require a garbage tag, up to a total of 6 garbage bags maximum (3 un-tagged, 3 tagged).
  • Order diaper bag tags free of charge if you require additional bags due to an increased amount of diapers.

Halton Region wants to ensure you have the resources needed to reduce your household and community waste.

Order yard waste labels

Yard waste labels are available at no charge. Order a yard waste labels online or call Halton Region by dialing 311. Yard waste labels must be placed on your reusable container to be collected.

Schedule a metal or appliance collection

Metal and appliances are collected by appointment only. This service is not offered in the Halton Hills collection areas C and D.

You must schedule metal and appliance collection before placing material out for pick-up. Your scheduled collection date may be 2 or 3 weeks from date of call.

To schedule a collection:

  • Complete online form to schedule a metal or appliance collection, or call Halton Region by dialing 311.
  • Give a description of the material to be collected. You will be given a date for when your material will be collected and a confirmation number.
  • On your metal and appliance scheduled collection day, place items at the curb by 7 a.m. and no sooner than 5 p.m. the evening before.

Be safe

  • Remove all appliance doors and place at the curb safely.
  • Drain water from washing machines, dishwashers, etc.
  • Place tall appliances such as refrigerators and hot water tanks flat on the ground.
