Program Support Services Team

Program Support Services is available to all licensed early learning and child care programs in Halton Region.

The Program Support Services Team (PSST) at Halton Region is committed to supporting and building capacity in educators and leaders on their professional learning journey. We view educators as life-long learners who are competent, capable, curious and rich in experience. Our services support leaders and practitioners to design and deliver high quality programs for children and families in Halton.

Our consultants are experienced registered early childhood educators with additional qualifications in early learning and child care and adult education, including specialized knowledge of early childhood pedagogy, practice and organizational development.

PSST provides responsive, respectful consultation and professional learning support. Our services are tailored to the Halton early learning and child care community, who support children from birth to 12 years of age.

Our services include:

  • Customized professional learning opportunities: community and centre-based
  • Program development for quality practices including support for How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years
  • Resource materials including program/environment assessment tools
  • Support for licensees including policy development, administration, leadership
  • Support to non-profit boards: roles and responsibilities, strategic planning
