What is Meals on Wheels?
Halton Region runs a Meals on Wheels program that delivers affordable, home-style and healthy meals to seniors and adults with disabilities.
- Certified and trained cooks produce the meals on site, in The Villages of Halton Production Kitchen (located in Allendale).
- Meals are delivered to your home and are ready to eat or you can order from the frozen meal menu and keep in your freezer until you are ready to eat.
- The menu offers a lot of variety; options including savoury meatloaf, greek seasoned chicken, shepherd’s pie and quiche. Dessert options can include peach crisp, butter tart, vanilla caramel cake, variety of cookies and bread pudding.
- The programs are funded to service seniors and adults with disabilities. However, anyone can purchase the meals.
