Landlords in the Rent Supplement Program

 
Landlords who have a Rent Supplement Agreement with Halton Region can use the information, forms and resources on this page.

As a landlord with a Rent Supplement Agreement with Halton Region, you have the following responsibilities:

  • Following the provisions of the Rent Supplement Agreement that you signed with Halton Region
  • Maintaining the normal landlord/tenant relationship (as per the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), 2006 (external link) and all applicable legislation), which includes:
    • Rent collection
    • Maintenance
    • Formal notices
    • Repairs and services
  • Sending a copy of formal notices to Rent Supplement staff, which includes:
    • Notice to vacate
    • Yearly N1-Notice of Rent Increase to ensure subsidy payments are applied and paid correctly and on time

The Landlord and Tenant Board (external link) website provides forms for landlords to use for various purposes under the RTA.

Landlords must respect the privacy of Rent Supplement tenants and their rights regarding their subsidy.
