HCHC works collaboratively with staff to complement existing programs. Forming strong partnerships and alliances with community agencies, allows HCHC to broaden the depth of on-site programming offered to residents.
  • Acclaim Health, through the Art in the House Program, provides weekly chair yoga and creative arts classes for residents in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Through these programs residents are able to meet, create discuss and connect.
  • Food for Life Canada runs a weekly program distributing fresh produce to residents free of charge. This food is a top up to the weekly grocery bill and is a welcome support to the community. The program provides a focus on healthy food and nutrition.
  • The Community Paramedic Program - Halton Region Paramedics Services runs this program weekly to identify seniors at risk from cardiovascular disease, diabetes and falls.
  • This building has two seniors tenant advisory group (TAG) members. The HCHC seniors tenant advisory group provides a forum for members of HCHC communities to come together, and discuss issues. Members are empowered to contribute to their communities and inspire others through social engagement, i.e. seniors’ month celebrations, welcoming new residents, coordinating and participating in social events at their sites.
